Patient Support

We offer tailored support to mums or birthing parents diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy, within 12 months of giving birth, or following baby loss related to a
cancer diagnosis. We can...

  • connect them with a dedicated Information & Support Worker who can provide emotional support and information

  • access to peer support forums

  • signpost and refer to other supportive organisations

  • assist in applying for a small grant from Mummy's Star (if eligible)

  • support beyond treatment, including advice on returning to work, health coaching etc.

  • direct them to the support library and hub for articles, real life stories, etc.

  • offer support for incurable primary, secondary, and end of life diagnoses (including memory making)

Emotional Support

Our Support Workers are matched one-to-one and will remain in contact as long as required by your patient. They can use whichever method of communication they prefer (email, text, phone call etc.) and their Support Worker is there to listen and to give information on the challenges and possibilities you are facing.

Our Support Workers come from various backgrounds and have experience in supporting mums/birthing parents following their diagnosis and some, additionally, have lived experience.

As well as being a friendly voice and a listening ear, they can help your patient to access further elements of our services and support from other providers too.

Peer Support Forum

We host private, closed Facebook groups as mutually supportive peer resources for eligible patients. It's a place for them to find connection, understanding, and to share experiences with others mums and parents.

The Forums are monitored by our Support Workers during office hours; outside of these hours it is peer-led.

Financial Support

Our Support Workers can provide information and signposting to your patient to other organisations that can help them navigate the financial impact of a cancer diagnosis.

We also offer a small, non-means tested grant, which aims to provide financial relief when most needed. We can help support your patient in the completion and submission of our application form. Your patient must be eligible and grants are limited to one per family. Click here for details.
