Awareness Raising & Research
We work hard to raise awareness of the challenges and realities faced by our mums, birthing parents and families.
We also work with healthcare professionals and academics to improve the understanding
of any maternity or healthcare professional who might find themself working at the intersection of cancer and pregnancy.
Tailored Leaflets
We currently have two trifold leaflets available to be stocked in hospitals, cancer centres, and other relevant settings.
Â
The first is specifically for Healthcare Professionals and the second is aimed at Patients.Â

These can be requested here and are also available to download here.
Workplace resources
We have a number of resource packs available to educate and inform the colleagues in your workplace, and to ensure our key messages are easy to remember.
Annual Awareness Campaigns
We host Cancer & Pregnancy Awareness Week across the UK and Europe at the end of June each year. Our social media content shares stories, key messages, and calls to action with the general public.

In March 2024, we hosted our first annual Healthcare Professionals Awareness Week.
This was an opportunity to tailor our messaging to best inform maternity and healthcare professionals on the key takeaways we think you should know about Cancer and Pregnancy.

Use the menu dropdown at the top of the page for our most recent Awareness Week content. Content from past Awareness Weeks can be found by clicking here.

Collaboration & Research

Cancer and pregnancy is so rare that there is very little research into its specifics. We consider it a vital part of our work to engage with research projects to begin to build a comprehensive understanding of cancer in and around pregnancy. We are always interested to hear about new, peer-reviewed work aiming to develop this rare field.

Our research collaborations include:

-
CAnceR IN PreGnancy (CARING) - a retrospective study with Mark Baxter and National Oncology Trainees Research Collaborative
-
Parenting with Cancer - a new resource providing workshops and support for parents diagnosed with cancer, in partnership with Fruitfly Collective.
-
Psychosocial issues associated with cancer during pregnancy with University of Surrey
-
Wolters et al (2021) article on managing pregnancy in women with cancer
-
International Network for Cancer, Infertility & Pregnancy (INCIP)

We also consider it our responsibility to endorse important research and resources from other organisations and sources:
